Before Kat transferred to Charleston, South Carolina, we interviewed her when she was in charge of our store on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado. You might remember that she helped us out with our Guide to our Favorite Places for Boulder! A great new manager has taken the reins at Boulder, but Kat is still rockin’ it for Earthbound as the store manager of our location on King Street in Charleston. We’re finally featuring Kat’s interview, and we’re excited for you all to get to know her a bit better!
Q: Describe yourself in ten words or less:
A: Love, Laughter, and the Pursuit of Glitter
Q: What do you love about working for Earthbound?
A: There is so much! I love everyone I work with from my team all the way up through store support; it is so great to actually enjoy coming to work and interacting with my co-workers. I also love the merchandise we sell, as anyone could tell if they walked into my home. Another aspect I love is being able to travel and see the different parts of the country and our company. However, the most enjoyable part of my job is seeing the people I have trained learn, grow, and succeed.
Q: What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?
A: Hands-down favorite thing to do is going to concerts and festivals, which is great with Red Rocks nearby. I also have a 7-month-old miniature longhair Dachshund puppy named Luna, and she’s one of my favorite things too…most of the time.
Q: What song have you been jamming out to lately?
A: Oh I hate to narrow it down! I listen to everything from bluegrass to rap, but I’m really into Wild Belle right now. I just love that brassy instruments are becoming more prevalent in today’s music.
Q: What’s your greatest dream in life?
A: Backup dancer for Beyoncé??? Maybe a more achievable dream of mine, though, is to someday live in Scotland. But, after I have retired from backup dancing of course.
Q: You’re stranded on a desert island. Excluding food, water and means of escape, what three items (one being an Earthbound product) would you take?
A: LUNA! I need a companion; she can be my Wilson. I would also bring a Swiss Army knife because I’m sure it would come in handy; maybe get the deluxe version with the solar panel. From Earthbound, I would bring the Tree of Life tapestry beacause it’s so soft. I could make a tent, a blanket, a dress, a hat, a puppy bed, just so much out of it!
